Gow has nice blood, but it doesn't stick to the walls or anything, for sof, it doesn't really have good looking blood, what I mean is that its just basically a bunch of red, it was more known for just how much blood there was and what you could do to the bodys. I really disagree with people thinking css has good blood effects, it use the same blood decal alot and is always just some big splatter on a wall, with chronicles of riddick, the blood looks great, it looks real, the blood isnt too bright red or dark colour, and it has many different decals that happens from different situations, when you fight someone, there face bruises up and there are little blood drops on the ground, it just seems to knock out the competition to me. And yes bioshock has great looking blood, but I'd prefer if we were discussing games that are out right now.BTW, Fear has some nice blood effects.

QUOTE='Glordit'Rofl I would say that SOF2 was a little over the top:) IMO Bioshock, Crysis, CS:S, I also liked Warhammer: DOW blood effects;)PernicioEnigma SOF2 isn't over the top, if anything it's tame compared to reality.I was in the alpha for sof2 and i remember the gore was a lot worse than when it went retail. You could shoot the enemies in the head and see all the skull fragments and brains.
They pretty much covered all the juicy bits up with excessive amounts of blood in the retail version. It had some pretty intense gore but at least they kept the intestines falling out of peoples stomachin the retail version.
Hard to say, many games have nice little touches to it, but so far I'm between Max Payne 3 and Condemned. Condemned is all about up close and brutal melee combat with some guns thrown in, so blood has to be a major thing, and it shows.

A shot or crowbar to the knee will cause a tearing wound, spraying blood in the direction of the wound with a splatter to the floor and items nearby. A headshot is even more brutal, instantly dropping them with a huge spray behind them bathing the wall, and sometimes blowing chunks of their head clean off.Max Payne 3 though, the wounds actually cause spurting bullet wounds. It's pretty fantastic, if my shot is powerful enough it penetrates the person completely to either hit someone else and cause this double spray, or if they wear armor then no blood at all comes out (which is a nice touch in knowing if your downed enemy is alive). The limbshots causing spurting that sticks to the environment while having them flail around is a nice touch, but a headshot that blows an enemy's eye out their head while caking the wall behind them in brain matter is a really visceral touch, and in slow mo it's a nice (if queasy) way to end a gun battle.I don't know why, thinking about this makes me feel disgusted with myself, but I can appreciate good effects regardless of what they are.
